During a Massage, your comfort is very important. So, you are assured the cotton sheets and blankets are clean and that organic oil is used. The Meditative Massage consists of massaging your neck, back, arms, hands, legs, and feet. If you like, you also receive a facial and scalp massage which I learned from Nita-Rose Augsbach (LMT) -- very relaxing and great for your skin tone!
This Massage sequence is excellent for stress-relief, and I continue to receive very positive feedback.
Many people become so relaxed that they don't want to talk and prefer to enjoy the background music. However, if you feel the need to chat while receiving a Massage, this is fine, too!
Often, you receive 5 or 10 minutes of Reiki at the end of the Massage. But Reiki is actually flowing during the entire massage. The Reiki energy offers added healing benefits.

Reiki is a gentle healing art which originated with a Japanese monk named Mikao Usui in the 1800’s. The story is that he undertook a fast in solitude near a holy mountain and was gifted with the knowledge of Reiki. “Reiki” is generally translated to mean “universal life force energy”.
Reiki Master Teachers Marion Corbin Mayer, Bruce Davis, and Aaron Pyne taught me.
Reiki was formalized into a system by Reiki Master Takata who standardized the hand placements used in a complete Reiki session. He also taught Reiki to the Japanese Navy so they could use Reiki to maintain their own health and to heal injured people.
You remain clothed during a Reiki Healing. As you relax on your back, I work in your aura to channel Reiki energy and to remove blocks which may be causing pain and even emotional distress. You may also spend time on your stomach on the healing table, so I can treat your back. Sometimes, I place healing stones on your body to support a chakra.

How do people feel during and after a Meditative Massage or Reiki Session? This is what clients have said to me:

“I haven't felt this relaxed in years."
“My sinuses are clearing up, so I can tell this really works!”
“I feel lighter.”
"Your hands are very warm during the session.”
“My knee does not hurt as much anymore.”
"My chronic stomach pain has been steadily decreasing since
leaving your studio."
"Keep up the good work!"
"LOVE the foot massage."
"Very nice touch."

Who's Doris?
I'm a Cincinnati native who has worn different hats in my career, including NPR-affiliate Reporter/Producer, College Instructor, and Nanny to name a few. I enjoy reading and writing poetry (William Carlos Williams, Song of Psalms, Langston Hughes, Margaret Atwood), hearing accoustic and choral music, and love to learn about different cultures.
Am very grateful to have the opportunity to work with people to add clarity, stress-relief, and healing to their lives. And I continue to learn new healing techniques...from Gary Pennington who I share the studio space with, and other healers.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website!
